What Is Cell Phone Unlocking?
Some phones contain software that prevents them from being used on different mobile networks, even when those networks are technologically compatible. If you bought your phone from one provider, that software "locks" the device to that provider's network.
Unlocking removes that software lock so your device can accept SIM cards from other compatible networks. The process varies by device and carrier: a carrier may unlock automatically after conditions are met, send unlock instructions on request, or complete the process in-store. SIERRAUNLOCK handles the technical side for you — legally, safely and with the carrier's own policies respected.
Technological compatibility note: unlocking disables the software lock, but it does not change your phone's hardware. A device designed for one network's technology (GSM, LTE, CDMA) must still be compatible with the new network. We always check compatibility before you pay.
